SOURCE OF TENSION
Because of the tremendous popularity of long-travel rear suspension, ProTec has developed a chain tensioner and guide specifically designed for those suspension systems.
The Pro-Tec bolts on easily and keeps the chain tight. But when the suspension compresses, the tensioner allows it to move with the motion without snapping. It’s much safer than running a sloppy chain to cope with long-travel.
Available for $21.95 at your local dealer or from Pro-Tec, Dept. CW-4, 8423 Rosemead Blvd., Pico Rivera, CA 90660. (213) 869-7346.

HEADGEAR
Trabaca Products has a new full-face helmet that is the result of two years of research and engineering. With the help of the Mobay Chemical Company they’ve developed an all-new “Uraliner” that is said to provide maximum protection to the wearer. A recent test to D.O.T. 218 standards showed the Preferred helmet to limit the G forces allowed to be transmitted through the helmet to the head to a maximum of 186 Gs. The maximum allowable by the D.O.T. U8 Standard is 400 Gs, so the Preferred helmet exceeds the G force requirement by 50 percent.
The KRW Preferred helmet is available in white, metallic silver and metallic gold, and has a suggested retail price of $64.75. Contact Trabaca Products of California, Inc., Dept. CW-4, 3170 Airway Ave., Costa Mesa, CA 92626. (714) 556-6965.

NEW LINE OF LEATHERS
Yamaha has entered the leathers market with its own brand of official competition riding pants. Constructed of tough, yet lightweight and pliable, hand-selected goatskin, the new leathers from Yamaha offer maximum protection, wear like iron, and are tailored for comfort in all riding positions.
After exhaustive appraisal of existing leathers now on the market, and extensive testing under racing conditions, Yamaha designed and produced their leathers to combine the best features of all makes now offered for sale, plus special characteristics of their own.
Some of the features incorporated in Yamaha riding leathers include “saddle seat” design for comfort, extra durability and the prevention of split seams; thick padding on all critical areas, with additional padding around the pelvic bone and hip area; an exclusive “flex crotch” that stretches and bends with the rider’s movements; tapered and zippered leg bottoms that tuck neatly into boots without bunching, riding up or pulling out; plus a zipper fly that lays flat; padded shin area for protection of sensitive leg bone area exposed above the boot line; removable high-impact knee cups constructed of material similar to that used in helmet liners; and a heavy-duty nickel-plated adjustable belt buckle to insure a comfortable fit.
Yamaha leathers also boast a full inner lining of nylon tricot, soft, smooth and it breathes, keeping body perspiration to a minimum and adding greatly to rider comfort.
Yamaha competition riding leathers are available in a full range of waist sizes from 28 to 38, and may be ordered in either black or Yamaha gold, each with a contrasting accent stripe imprinted with “Yamaha.” Retailing for approximately $90, the leathers are available only through Yamaha dealers.
