El Trial de España

COMPETING IN EUROPEAN events has long been a dream of Southern California Trials Association members. But, like so many dreams, a lack of capital has prevented it until now.

Profits gained from El Trial de Espana, organized by the Plonkers Trials Club in cooperation with the SCTA. will be sufficient to send Bob Nicholson and Kevin Walker to compete in the Spanish round of the European Trials Championship.

Those involved hope the experiences of these two riders will improve the caliber of local events, as has exposure to visiting European trials masters.

Twenty-four Spanish trophies, donated by Ossa, Montosa. Motociclismo magazine, and Bultaco Western representative Doug Yerkes added an international flavor to the event.

The trials, held at Saddleback Park, featured elasses for experts, amateurs, novices, women, kids, and the press. Although everyone rode a similar course, except the press, some amateur and expert traps were more ditlicult. This measure gave everyone a chance at the trophies.
