NHTSA Recall No. 09T003000 Manufacturer: Pirelli Tire LLC Models: Metzeier ME880 Marathon Potential Number of units affected: 1615

Problem: Certain Metzeier ME880 Marathon tires, sizes 130/90B16 and 140/90B16, manufactured between June 22 and September 13,2008, were stamped with incorrect load range and inflation pressure information which fails to conform to the labeling requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard No. 119, “New pneumatic tires for motor vehicles with a GVWR of more than 4536 kilograms (10,000 pounds) and motorcycles.”

Remedy: Metzeier will notify owners and replace the noncompliant tires free of charge. Owners may contact Metzeler at 877/202-4993.

NHTSA Recall No. 09V035000 Manufacturer: Piaggio Model: Aprilia Scarabeo 200 Model years: 2008-09 Number of units involved: 458 Problem: These scooters fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard No. 205, “Glazing Materials,” because the incorrect DOT standard-equipment handlebar-mounted windshield was installed at the factory.

Remedy: Piaggio will replace the windshield according to the correct DOT specifications. Owners not receiving this free remedy can contact Piaggio at 212/380-4458.
