What to wear, then?
Fret not, knee-brace-maker EVS has you covered. Literally. Its thigh-length, six-panel lycra compression shorts are similar to those sold at bicycle shops, but differ mostly in that they have internal hip pockets for thin, kidney-shaped foam pads. The latter can be used to supplement or replace the larger pads that come standard in most motocross pants, or removed altogether. A Tshaped pad guards the tailbone, and is stitched permanently in place.
In use, the shorts all but disappear. The stretchy fabric hugs the body, flat seams eliminate chafing, and elasticized openings keep the legs from rid-
