BIKES A GO AT THE GUGGENHEIM

ONE OF THE WORLD’S MOST RENOWNED ART museums is about to be taken over by motorcycles. New York City’s landmark Guggenheim Museum, usually a showcase for modern masters such as Oldenburg, Warhol and Picasso, will feature “The Art of the Motorcycle,” June 25-September 12. Scheduled for ex-

hibit in the museum’s spiralling, multi-story display area are approximately 100 motorcycles. Sponsored by BMW, the exhibition will feature bikes from around the world, ranging from the late 1800s to the present, the goal being to chronicle the most compelling moments in the evolution of motorcycle technology and design. Organizers hope to have special motorcycle parking on Fifth Avenue adjacent to the Guggenheim. For information and museum hours, phone 212/423-3840.
