VINCENT BLACK EAGLE TAKING SHAPE
WORK PROGRESSES ON the new Vincent Black Eagle with production examples to debut in about one year, say backers.
Bernard Li, president of Eagle One Industries, which makes car-care products, is behind Vincent’s rebirth.
He says his Black Eagle will be a modern interpretation of how a Vincent would look, had the company continued production.
“This drawing represents our initial thinking on the basic design of the Vincent Black Eagle, but this is not a final rendition,” Li says. “We anticipate a number of changes will be required once we are ready to go into production.”
No decisions have been made about a powerplant, but Li says it won’t look like it does in the design sketch. “The engine shown here is a stylized version of what we will have built by one of several manufacturers with which we are presently negotiating,” he says. “I can say, though, that the Black Eagle will be powered by a liquid-cooled V-Twin of up to I500cc in displacement, developing at least 80 horsepower, which will meet EPA emission requirements.”
CIV founder Joe Parkhurst was retained by Eagle One to bring the idea to reality. He says the project is steadily coming together.
“Finding a manufacturer capable of meeting our standards has become a more time-consuming effort than we had anticipated,” he says. “I’m happy to report that we are making progress and expect to make a formal announcement within a short time.”
The production goal is 2500 bikes per year, and bikes will be sold at 50 existing dealers, says Parkhurst, who adds, “We will seek and select places to sell the bikes in areas most popular for motorcycling.”
