DREAM OF SPENDING some time schussing a motorcycle through the Alps, maybe capped off by catching a GP roadrace? We do too, and we've done something about it.
In conjunction with Edelweiss Bike Travel, Cycle World is sponsoring the Alps Grand Prix Tour, scheduled for May 9 through May 17. Up to 35 readers can join members of the CW staff for a week-long tour of the Alps and the Italian Dolomite Mountains, which will include spectating at the Austrian Gran Prix held on the famous Salzburgring circuit.
Base price of the tour, which includes round-trip airfare from New York, motorcycle rental and insurance, seven nights’ lodging, all breakfasts and dinners, a tour guide, a support/luggage vehicle and race tickets, is $2795. Passenger cost is $1995. Base motorcycles are Suzuki GS5()0Es and VX800s, though these can be upgraded for extra cost. Suzuki Katana 750s and 1 100s are available, as are BMW K75s, R80s, R100s, Kl lOOLTs and Kl 1 OORTs.
