IF THE THOUGHT OF TOURING WILD, exotic locales sets your blood to coursing, you probably need a copy of Motorcycle Touring, An International Directory—1991/92.

Now in its second edition, Motorcycle Touring provides its readers with a listing of international motorcycle tours, tour operators, motorcycle rental agencies, transport facilities, and rides and rallies scheduled for the United States.

When it comes to figuring out where to go and how to get there, the most usef ul sections of the book are those headed “Organized Tours,” and “Motorcycle Rental Agencies.” The organized tour section is broken down into I 2 geographic areas which span planet Earth and all its continents. Doesn't matter whether you want to ride here in the U.S.. in Europe or in exotic Oriental climes, or whether you want to ride touring, sport or dual-purpose machines, there's a little something here for everyone—in many cases, there are multiple choices. For example, in the section that lists tours, we counted five for the British Isles, seven for India, and we ran out of lingers counting the ones through Western Europe and the Alps.

If, however, you're reluctant to consider an organized tour, the next section, “Motorcycle Rental Agencies,” is for you. This section lists more than 35 agencies all over the U.S., South America, Britain, Europe. Africa, the Middle East, Australia and New Zealand, that will rent you a motorcycle—just about anything you’d want, from Harleys to sportbikes to dual-purpose machines.

If you've ever thought you might like to do vacation travel on a motorcycle, or if you'd just like to daydream about going someplace wonderful on a bike, we recommend this book. — Jon F. Thompson
