Johnson rides again
Motocross superhero Rick Johnson spent much of the winter recovering from a broken arm at the Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs, Colorado. But even though he’s been sidelined, he still wins whenever he rides a motorcycle. Just to stay in shape, Johnson entered a local supercross (and won) and a local enduro (and won). In the enduro, he had to outride the likes of veteran ISDE rider Fritz Kadlec, who was second. Just think what Johnson could have done if he was healthy.
Lechien gun
When Ron Lechien really wants to win, it seems that nobody can stop him. At the U.S. round of the 500cc world motocross championship, near Hollister, California, Lechien really wanted to win. He walked away with both motos, leaving the best riders in the world to scramble for second on an exceptionally dusty track. Defending champion
Eric Geboers had the second-best score. Lechien’s performance was reminiscent of his double win at last year’s Motocross des Nations, which was also his last significant win.
With these kind of showings in international competition, the Europeans must be wondering why Lechien doesn’t win everything in the U.S. Come to think of it, so do we.
