ANDREW CIRIOT WINS RACE WATCH CONTEST PART II
Andrew Ciriot of Deland, Florida was the first entrant to correctly tell why the machine shown in the May issue, page 171 (ridden by Wes Cooley, David Aldana and Ron Pierce) is a racebike.
The bike is a racebike because it has Slick tires.
Notable other guesses included the rear wheel stand (disallowed because the stand is permanently attached to the bike), the race-style handlebars (disallowed because we didn’t think of it first) and the team of excellent riders aboard (disallowed because they are not permanently attached to the machine).
Ciriot wins moderate fame and a copy of the original photo signed by all three riders. SI
