What do you do if you're wailing down the backstretch at Daytona and your Triumph flat runs out of gas? If you're Gene Romero, you improvise. Romero took up coasting and got as far as the chicane...sighted in on an abandoned Yamaha...ripped off the gas tank...poured said contents into his Triumph...and motored away. Unfortunately, innovation doesn't pay dividends when the AMA is watching. The only flag Romero saw was black.
