NEW NATIONAL NUMBERS:

HERE'S THE CREAM: The top scoring AMA Experts. Their plate numbers show how they scored. Gene Romero and Triumph hold the magic No. 1 plate. Of the significant Top 10. BSA and Triumph riders took 7 places last year. Harley-Davidson took 2. and Yamaha. 1. At the road races. you may find variations in these numbers to avoid confusion because of the large number of entrants, hut these National numbers will obtain at most events. Don't confuse them with regional numbers, which are followed by a small letter. The classifications of riders are changed slightly, too. The top riders are still called Experts. But the class below, the Amateurs. are now called Juniors. The Novices remain Novices.
