BIGGEST OF THE BIG

For those desiring the ultimate in competition drum brakes, new 250-mm diameter Fontana units are now available from Kosman Motorcycle Specialties. These four-leading shoe stoppers are so powerful that both road racing champ Cal Rayborn and AMA champion Mert Lawwill have specified them for use on their thundering Harley-Davidson racing machines. The brake is available with a 15-mm spindle, a size common to many machines, and Ceriani forks, while it also laces to both WM 2 by 18 or WM 2 by 19 Borrani rims. Special brake anchor plates for Ceriani road racing brakes are also available. The price is $295 for the complete wheel and brake cable junction box. TRIUMPH DRAG FRAME

Another racers' delight from the Kosman concern is this completely engineered drag frame. Made of 4130 chrome moly stock with brazed fittings, the Kosman frame tips the scales at a feathery 17 lb. It has a 68-in. wheelbase to benefit high speed handling and sells for $325. A complete drag racing chassis is also offered, incorporating the aforementioned frame plus Kosman forks, wheels, tires and alloy oil tank, along with miscellaneous bits and pieces; price complete, $925.
