CYCLE ALLEY RIDERS' TRIALS
BILL NEWROCK
A NOTICEABLY GROWING interest in the realm of observed trials has been felt in many parts of the United States, and New Jersey is no exception. The impetus has been accelerated there through the efforts of one of the country’s most active competition clubs, the Cycle Alley Riders, whose recently - sponsored trials were well attended by many of the east’s top exponents of the sport.
Home base for the Cycle Alley Riders is Paterson, New Jersey, and besides competing in numerous endurance runs throughout the season, including the Jack Pine, Corduroy and Sandy Lane events, they promote many of their own meets. Additionally, all fifty members are actively involved with their local Civil Defense program, ready at a moment’s notice to serve as dispatch riders and messengers in case of an emergency.
The following trials aces received welldeserved trophies from Cycle Alley members for their respective showings in the club’s most successful competition. •
