NEW SUZUKI FOUR
CYCLE WORLD’S affiliated motorcycling journal in Japan, The Motor-Cycle, rushed us the accompanying photographs of the newly-developed Suzuki RV-63, water cooled, four-cylinder 250cc road racer being tested on the Suzuka Circuit just prior to the Japanese Grand Prix. Reported to be rated at 52 horsepower at 12,000 rpm, the high-powered racing machine sports some of the largest brakes we have ever seen on any motorcycle.
These photographs, taken in secret by The Motor Cycle’s staff photographer, also show only two exhaust expansion chambers extending to the rear of the machine between the rider’s legs; the other two chambers, off the front cylinders, are concealed by the fairing. The first Japanese Grand Prix is scheduled to run November 10th; a report will appear in the next issue of CYCLE WORLD. •
