AMERICA'S EICMA?

The inaugural American International Motorcycle Expo takes place in Orlando, Florida, October 16-20. Unlike most other trade shows, AIMExpo is open to the public (Friday afternoon through Sunday), following two days in which approximately 300 exhibitors will showcase their wares to retailers and press. Larry Little, Cycle World's former publisher who is now Vice President and General Manager of AIMExpo, says the show will feature a broad spectrum of aftermarket companies and major players, such as Yamaha and Suzuki, who are expected to have significant news to share. Little adds that AIMExpo has been patterned after the EICMA show in Milan, Italy-designed to get industry people, retailers and consumers all in one place at the right time. “We’re still the world’s largest market from a recreational perspective,” explains Little, who adds that Ducati sells twice as many bikes here in the U.S. as it does in Italy. Tickets to the show, cost $15; kids under12 are free with an adult admission. More info at aimexpousa.com. We’ll see you there.
