Problem: The terminal nuts that
secure the main power supply wires
could be loose at the circuit breaker.
This can cause an unexpected loss of electrical power and corruption of the fuel/ignition map programmed into the electronic control module (ECM). Either condition could cause the engine to stall, increasing the risk of a crash.
Remedy: Dealers will inspect and tighten the circuit-breaker terminal nuts and reprogram the ECM free of charge. Owners not receiving this remedy should contact Polaris/

NHTSA Recall No. 08V461000 Yamaha C3 and Vino Classic scooters
Model year: 2007 Number of units involved: 4800 Problem: A crack may develop in the connecting rod. If the engine continues to run, the rod may break. The engine then will stop and cannot be restarted, increasing the risk of a crash.
Remedy: Dealers will replace the crankshaft assembly with one that has a properly heat-treated connecting rod. Owners not receiving this free remedy should contact Yamaha at 800/962-7926.

Models: Aftermarket brake levers,

Problem: Some of these levers, which fit certain ’99-’08 Suzuki and ’98-’03 Yamaha YZF-R1 motorcycles, do not properly engage the stop-lamp switch, causing the switch to fail to deactivate when the rider releases the lever. If this occurs, the stop lamp will remain on, possibly resulting in a crash. The lever can be identified by the marking ‘ÜY 378” at the base of the lever near the pivot bushing.
