Return of the Wide Glide
The introduction of the 2010 Harley-Davidsons didn't offer any big surprises, but four models stand out with notable changes. After a one-year absence, the Wide Glide returns looking old-school and badass. The touring line gets the stripped and slammed Road Glide Custom ($18,999 to $19,479) and Electra Glide Ultra Limited ($24,699 to $25,899), the latter powered by a bored-out, 103-cubicinch engine. The Softail family gets the Fat Boy Lo ($16,299 to $16,674) in a sinister black with the lowest seat height in Harley's line at 26.3 inches.
The re~turning Wk~e Glide, however, is the big news. Lowered front and rear suspension drop seat height from the previous 2007 model's 28.5 to an ultra-low 26.7 inches. The rubber-mounted Twin Cam 96 engine exhales through stacked Tommy Gun exhaust pipes. Styling features include a bobbed rear fender, "wire" sissy bar, integrated LED tail Iight/turnsignals and a side-mounted license-plate holder. The 40-spoke laced steel wheels feature black rims mounted with a fat 180mm tire out back and a 21-inch pizza cutter up front. It's available in Vivid Black ($14,499), Red Hot Sunglo ($14,874) and Vivid Black Flame ($1 5,194). Look for a full road test of the Wide Glide in an upcoming issue.
