Joe Rocket Razor Suit

CW EVALUATIONS

Looking sharp, real sharp!

MAKING A mark in

the thick-withproduct two-piece riding suit business no easy task. But that’s exactly what Canadian gear-maker Joe Rocket hopes to accomplish with its textile Razor

outfit.

Intended to affordably bridge the gap between street and racetrack-at least in terms of appearance, if not outright protectionthe Razor relies on sharp styling, topnotch ventilation and a body-hugging fit to separate itself from the competition.

Because the suit was developed

with speed in mind, there’s little room under the combination 360and 600denier “Rock Tex” shell for much more than vital organs. The meshbacked material is said to be highly abrasion-resistant, and is supplemented at the back, shoulders, elbows, hips and knees by removable dual-density padding. Patented “AirFoil” ventilation, consisting of 12 zippered vents-eight in the jacket, four in the pants-gives the suit multiseason versatility.

A full-circumference zipper secures the jacket to the pants. Snugging up the high, lightly padded waist via the two velcro-backed straps provides added lower-back support, which is much appreciated after a long day in the saddle. Strategically shaped and positioned pleated stretch panels further improve comfort and ease on-bike movement. Replaceable knee sliders are an added bonus.

How would the Razor stand up in a

crash? It’s difficult to judge, as we haven’t had the experience. Going on aesthetics, features and cost, however, it looks like a “slashing” success. S3
