UP: To the Riders of the Lost Empire, for giving good art. The Britbike club’s logo, penned by G.D. Bradley, is definitely a cut above the usual Union Jack-in-a-roundel affair. Based in Florida, the club has 125 members worldwide and is looking for more. A mere $25 gets you in-not to mention a decal and T-shirt with said logo, plus four issues of the club’s newsletter, touted as being highly “oil-absorbent.” Sounds like a deal to us. To join (that’s the only way to get the T-shirt), contact Riders of the Lost Empire, 13355 79th St., Fellsmere, FL 32948; www.lostempire.com.

DOWN: To two-wheeled ne’er-do-4 wells, for giving motorcyclists a bad name. Hans Benesch, who is employed at the German consulate in violence-happy Sao Paulo, Brazil, was injured when he was hit in the stomach by a stray bullet allegedly fired by one of two men trying to steal a motorcycle. In Macau, gaming dealer Fong Kam-lon died when a gunman, who was the passenger on a motorcycle, shot him. Hey, whatever happened to good of fashioned car bombs? UP: To Keith Code, for 20 years of on-track excitement. In business since 1980, Code’s California Superbike School has educated nearly 40,000 students. Its expanded format now includes venues in Asia, Australia and Europe. For school dates or to enroll, contact Code at 818/246-0717 or at www.superbikeschool.com.
