CORBIN GOES MAINSTREAM

Never heard of the Sparrow, seat-maker Mike Corbin's electric-powered, three-wheeled single-seater? You will. And soon. In the works for several years, the commuter-friendly lightweight recently passed DOT regs and is headed for full-scale production. Apparel-giant Nike commissioned a custom-painted example, done up to resemble a soccer ball to promote various events, including the Women's World Cup of Soccer. In addition, Corbin recently merged with Costa Mesa, California's MCM Engine Technologies, Inc. MCM's liquidcooled, 90-degree V-Twin will power Corbin's Merlin three-wheeler and City Wizard micro-van, both of which are in the prototype stage. They will be manufactured in a new, 120,000-square-foot plant in Daytona Beach, Florida.
