UPS AND DOWN
DOWN: To the smooth-riding but trash-talking Carl Fogarty, for his less-than-gracious comments after the Daytona 200. The defending World Superbike champ, who finished second to Scott Russell, told England's Motor Cycle News, "Enough is enough! I'm never going to Daytona again." Fogarty was particularly incensed at what he thought was a misuse of the pace car that allowed Russell to catch up after his second-lap crash, saying "It's unfair and I'm not coming back." Like a little whine with those sour grapes, Carl?
UP: To Steve Fernandez of Thvial Endeavors, for giving moto-heads a constructive outlet. Fernandez is the brains behind Moto Trivia, a motorcycle trivia game patterned after the immensely popular Trivial Pursuits. Each of the games's 80 cards contains questions and an swers in six different categories. CW even made it into the game: "0. How much did the first issue of Cycle World cost in 1962? A. Thir ty-five cents." Ouch, that hurts! To order Moto Trivia, send $12.95 plus $2 shipping and handling to Trivial Endeavors, P0. Box 332, Pleas antville, NY 10570, or order by phone at 800/7-TRIVIA.
UP: To controversial San Antonio Spur forward Dennis Rodman, for being himself. The NBA's rainbowhaired rebound leader and some time-consort of Madonna went for a ride on his Hariey-Davidson in March, overcooked a stop and took a tumble, landing him on the dis abled list for four weeks with a sep arated shoulder. Rodman refused to participate in the hand-wringing that followed the incident. "It's just one of those things." the Tattooed One said. For keeping it all in per spective, way to go, Worm.
