LAST GOLDIE GOES HOME
The last of the fabled BSA Gold Stars is now on display at Britain's National Motorcycle Museum. The 500cc Single, serial number DBD-GS-7160, was built in 1963, bringing 17 years of Gold Star production to a halt. The bike was then exported to Canada, where it was recently discovered still in its original shipping crate. Goldies usually had silver-metallic fuel tanks, but 7160's was painted funereal black to commemorate the demise of the once-great model. The museum, located in Birming ham, is dedicated to preserving the history of British mo torcycling and has more than 600 bikes in its collection.
