BIMOTA'S BACK, POSSIBLE BMW LINK

Bimota officials have confirmed that after a year's absence from the American market, the company's high-performance motorcycles once again are

available through an American distributor.

James Lombardo, Bimota’s U.S. agent, confirmed that Moto Cycle of Stalstown, Pennsylvania, recently concluded an arrangement that makes the company the sole U.S. importer for Bimota.

Lombardo said the company will pursue what he called “aggressive new pricing,” as it works to service its small but enthusiastic band of American Bimota-philes.

The home fires burn at the factory, with Bimota progressing on its single-cylinder race machine. A BMW linkup may provide engines for Bimota’s racer and possible street derivatives. Previously, Gilera’s 750cc Thumper had served well in the racebike, but Gilera is no more.
