1994 KAWASAKI SNEAK PEEK

We don’t very often get to see new dirtbikes before their official press introductions, but recently Kawasaki’s 1994 pre-production KX250 was spotted at a nearby racetrack, where it was undergoing final testing.

Changes in the frame revolve around connecting the shock linkage directly to the frame, eliminating the suspension link plates used on previous models, and the subframe is now steel instead of aluminum for improved strength. Also, the steering-head angle has been pulled in to give quicker steering.

The new plastic is said to increase airflow to the revised airbox and is styled to share the look of the new KLX650R four-stroke. Apparently, the ’94 KX250’s engine will receive only minor changes. -Jimmy Lewis
