TY250Z: ONE TRICK TRIALS BIKE

Yamaha’s first aluminum-framed dirtbike is the TY250Z. It uses a Deltabox frame made of a combination of internally webbed, castand extruded-aluminum. Dry weight is a claimed 169 pounds. A three-quart fuel tank snuggles between the frame’s side rails. The liquid-cooled engine is all-new, with ceramic-composite cylinder plating. Yamaha isn’t importing the TY250Z, but the Tryals Shop (6106 Land O’ Lakes Blvd., Land O’ Lakes, FL 34639; 813/996-3754) is. Price is about $6500.
