Right-to-ride won by N.J. mutt

First, keep in mind that this isn't something we endorse. But...

In West Milford, N.J., Sheeba, a 42-lb. colliemalmute, has won the right to continue riding as a passenger on her owner’s motorcycle.

A chapter of the Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals filed charges against Sheeba's owner, Swen Bos, for allowing the dog to ride on his Honda.

Swen had estimated that Sheeba has logged about 35,000 mi. on two wheels. That, said the SPCA, should be considered “cruel and inhumane” treatment.

The judge, though, didn't agree, and ruled that Sheeba was free to ride.

During the trial, Bos pointed out that Sheeba was an accomplished passenger, and enjoyed riding on his bike's padded gas tank. Furthermore, he said, Sheeba always wore goggles. 51
