McPHAIL TAKES TWO RECORDS

Roger McPhail and his VHR-sponsored GS1100 have set records in both NMRA and AMA/Dragbike competition. McPhail, 29, from Norwalk, Calif., rode his Suzuki to a 10.50 sec., 129.68 mph Superstock A record for NMRA. In AMA/Dragbike competition under less stringent Superstock AA rules, McPhail went 10.41 sec. and 131.66 mph.

In NMRA trim, Superstock bikes must run stock carburetors and stock internal engine parts (including pistons and cams). Aftermarket exhaust systems and clutches are legal. McPhail runs his Suzuki on pump gas.
