Penhall Beats Bast For U.S. Speedway Title

PENHALL BEATS BAST FOR U.S. SPEEDWAY TITLE

World Speedway Champion Bruce Penhall returned to his home track at Orange County Fairgrounds in Costa Mesa, Calif, to win the American Motorcyclists Assn. (AMA) National Speedway Championship.

Penhall defeated seven-times U.S. Champion Mike Bast, winning four of his five heat races and finishing second to Bast in the other.
