Denim or corduroy sportswear backed with a fabric the makers say is superior to leather is now being offered as motorcycle gear. There are several styles ofjackets, shirts and trousers, for men or women, with a choice of blue denim or brown corduroy. The backing is the news. It contains a blend of nylon and "Kevlar" 29 aramid fibers. Spokesmen for Dupont, which de veloped the fabric, say lab tests matching the fabric against leather showed the Key lar to be twice as resistant to abrasion, five times as resistant to tearing and almost four times stronger in breakage tests. Sounds great. The clothes are being marketed by Schorr Strong Industries.
