TUNE-EM

For Honda Four owners who prefer to do their own carburetor tuning, Dixie Tool & Die Co. is offering “Tune-Em” to facilitate the project.

A special vacuum gauge set-up is utilized by this unit to synchronize the carburetors. It includes four vacuum gauges, valve snubbers to minimize flutter, metric adapters, tubing, necessary gaskets and instructions. Set-up can be accomplished without removing the gas tank, and the unit is visible from either side of the cycle while adjustments are being made.

The problem of switching back and forth to read each cylinder’s action, which was a drawback with the singlegauge permanent mounted carb tuners, is eliminated in the Tune-Em unit.

TRAIL BIKE SPARK ARRESTER

The Horstman-Krizman Spark Arrester is now available for trail bikes as well as minibikes. Compact and lightweight (only 14 oz.), the unit can be easily removed for periodic cleaning of carbon. It features a heat resistant black finish and slotted inlet and clamp, for secure installation.

Size inventory includes 0.750, 0.789, 0.875, 0.937, 1.000, 1.125, 1.250,

BEBE MINICYCLE

BeBe, a new line of minieycles manufactured by Betamotor in Florence, Italy, is now available through Premier Motor Corp., the sole American importer and distributor.

Standard equipment includes many big-bike features: lighting, rear shocks, swinging arm rear suspension, and a telescopic front fork. Also incorporated is a heavy duty steel drawn tubular frame, a comfort contour seat, stainless steel front and rear mudguards, a 1-gal. fuel tank and front and rear 3.00-10 knobbies. Available colors arc avocado and orange.

Prospective buyers have the option of a four-speed or automatic transmission. The 5-bhp four-speed unit is equipped with a constant mesh gearbox and a multiplate clutch. Weight is 107 lb., saddle height, 24 in., handlebar width, 33 in. and wheelbase, 37.5 in.

The automatic version develops 2.8 bhp. Other vital statistics for this model include a 93-lb. weight, a saddle height of 22.5 in., a handlebar width of 33 in. and a 37.5-in. wheelbase.

Power for both units is supplied by a single cylinder, two-cycle 48-cc engine, utilizing a Dellorto carburetor and flywheel magneto ignition.

BeBe is available nationwide through a network of Premier dealers, who also sell Moto Guzzi. Complete parts and service availability is offered through these dealers as well.

SRA "RED HEAD" RT-1 400 KIT

S. Robin & Associates, Dept. CW-7, 18275 Parthenia St., Northridge, CA 91324, has available their new “Red Head” 400-cc kit for the RT-1 series Yamaha. The complete kit sells for $129.95 and contains everything from the crankcase up, excluding the carburetor. Send in your old cylinder and cylinder head and receive another cylinder which has been bored, shot-peened and stress relieved, an 85-mm single-ring piston, and a specially machined cylinder head, which is red anodized.

Two different barrels are available: an Enduro model with nearly standard port timing, and an MX model with slightly more radical port timing.

Absolutely no machining is necessary to install the kit. Ignition timing remains stock, but the carburetor main jet should be increased by one or two sizes.

HONDA HORSEPOWER

A new high performance cam for the Honda SL100 has been designed by Motorcycle Specialties Co.

The specially developed grind provides maximum horsepower and a wide power band. Other primary features include precise valve control, and elimination, in most cases, of valve failure.

HONDA 4 EXHAUST SHIELDS

Composed of lightweight aluminum anti finished in heat resistant black wrinkle paint, they are claimed to provide complete protection from the exhaust pipes. They can be bolted on in minutes in place of the stock shields.

BRONCCO MINI-CYCLES

Broncco continues its motorcycles-in-miniature concept with the introduction of three new Mini-Cycles for 1971.

These new models have been completely redesigned and feature a more powerful four-speed, two-cycle Carelli engine. Skid plates, tool kits, chromed upswept exhaust pipes, and fold-down handlebars are some of the features continued from previous models.

A double-loop frame of 0.085-in. mild steel tubing is used and the new mini-cycles are fitted with heavy-duty suspension and telescopic spring dampened shock absorbers.

Fully legal lighting, horn and speedometer are standard on both the BR-4 street model and on the BC-4L trial model. Both models are fitted with Pirelli tires, competition saddles and front and rear high-mounted lenders.

The manufacturer claims a dry weight of around 125 lb., and both have a top speed of 55 mph. For those who do not want the lighting equipment, a third model is available. Claimed dry weight of this BC-4 model is 1 20 lb.

DUNSTALL NORTON 810-CC KIT

Paul Dunstall is marketing a cast aluminum, bolt-on, 810-cc kit for Norton 750 engines that is 10 lb. lighter than stock.

Larger finning improves heat dissipation and pressed in iron sleeves are featured.

The kit comes with l():l pistons only, which have a squish band for optimum turbulence and improved flame spread. Gudgeon pins, circlips, rings, lightweight tappets, all studs, nuts, and gaskets are furnished.

Retail price of the 810-CC-cc Norton kit is 874(L complete from all Dunstall dealers. New style tappets are also available to fit the stock barrel assembly.

MIDI-CYCLE

Take a 100-cc Hodaka five-speed engine, add a tube frame, swinging arm suspension. Ceriani-like front forks with over 6 in. of travel, and 16-in. wheels, and you come up with Bonanza Industries' latest creation—the Midi-cycle.

According to Bonanza, it handles like no other compact and is designed for motorcycle competition. The big wheels give the Midi better flotation and directional stability, and allow a full 12 in. of clearance between frame and ground.

It has folding handlebars, so it still fits into a car trunk. You can take it to the boonies with no trouble at all and have a ball.

The machine is controlled with big bike ball-end levers and twist grips. The wide motocross handlebars are adjustable to your riding style, and a soft, upholstered seat is fitted.

Bonanza President Mike Farrand claims the Midi may be the first compact motorcycle to be mass produced in the U.S. (only the engine and spoke rims are imported ).

All this is said to be a prelude to a 125-cc motocross racer to be introduced next spring.

TOMMASELLI CLIP-ONS

Racing clip-on sets by Tommaselli are now available at the Grizzly. These sets come complete with levers, throttle, and grips.

The lightweight chrome-plated bars have a two-bolt clamp with adapters to fit any diameter fork tubes. Bar ends feature Avional alloy caps which provide hand protection. Grips are by Granturismo.

STEEN MINI-CYCLES

Steen’s Inc. is increasing its minicycle line with four new models for off-road riding.

The F 100 series includes three models, the Mini-Motocross, the Mini-Scrambler, and the Deluxe MiniSera mbier.

All F100 mini-cycles are powered by five-speed Hodaka Ace 100 two-stroke engines, which develop 9.8 bhp at 7500 rpm. Claimed weight is 125 lb. Ceriani front forks. 16-in. wheels and 4-in. diameter drum brakes are featured.

MOTOSPORT 70

Followinga trend to mini-motorcycles sparked by Yamaha’s introduction of the Mmi-Fnduro. Honda has created the Motosport 70.

Five blip is developed by a fourspeed 70-cc ohc four-stroke engine. Contributing to the larger-bike feeling are the 16-in. front and 14-in. rear tires, which aid in handling. Front suspension features hydraulic dampening.

Styling of the bigger SL-series Hondas is carried through on the Motosport 70. Included are motocross handlebars and candy colors.

Both rider and environmental safety are protected by the inclusion of an easily accessible cut-off switch and a USD A-ap proved spark arrester /muffler.
