BAJA BAGS

FULL BORE CHAIN
Full Bore Accessories, a division of Yankee Motor Co., has available a Full Bore chain with a patented master link design providing a more balanced load distribution. It features a double-clip construction to prevent chain separation if clips are lost. Length tolerance of the pre-stressed chain is only 0.015 in. in 10 ft. The calculated ultimate average strength is 6100 lb. To build compressive loads and provide high tensile strength, the chain link plates have been shot peened. The bushings are high interference press-fit to eliminate tight joints. Shock resistant Hi-Alloy-Steel pins, as opposed to Hi-Carbon-Steel, are heat treated for maximum wear resistance. The pin ends are copper-plated before being heat treated, thus keeping the pin ends workable to facilitate alterations. Four popular sizes are available: 1/2 by 1/4; 1/2 by 5/16; 5/8 by 1/4; and 5/8 by 3/8. The Full Bore Master Link is also available separately in all popular sizes. YOSHIMURA
PISTON KIT
Honda 750 riders interested in optimum performance have the option of incorporating Yoshimura Competition Component's slipper-type pistons into their power units. Designed for those who wish to stay within the 750cc classification, the slipper configuration pistons give a 10.5:1 compression ratio, greater strength and lighter weight. Design of the piston features skirts on the front and rear sides of the pistons only, with two rings and reinforced wrist pin areas. For strength, the components are high pressure die cast. The set of four pistons and standard racing rings is $99, postpaid from Yoshimura. For the rider who wants the added power of an overbore but also wants to retain enough wall thickness for first and second oversize boring, Yoshimura supplies an 812-cc piston kit. Specially cut, lightened, and relieved 350 pistons come complete with rings, wristpins and circlips for installation in the overbored cylinder; no special head gasket is required. According to Yoshimura, research has indicated that this is the optimum size for enlarging the 750 while still retaining the qualities of reliability and balance.
