CYCLING RECORDS
RACING ENTHUSISTS who have longed often to relive a particular race, as well as anyone fascinated by the sound of racing motorcycles will be interested in knowing that the Stanley Schofield series of recordings of European racing in excellent fidelity are available from E. J. Piggott Enterprises Ltd., 2703 Delaware Ave., Dept. CW, Buffalo 23, New York. This marvelous collection of the incomparable sounds of four-cylinder Gileras, Hondas, Guzzis and MV Agustas, and the throaty and powerful sounds of Nortons, Matchless, AJS and BMWs, were all recorded during thrilling moments of the Isle of Man TT races.
The latest additions to the collection are six new 45 rpm recordings called “Sound Stories”; each is a sound picture of individual riders highlighting important phases of their careers against a background of sounds with which they were associated. Albums are devoted to; Jim Redman, Luigi Taveri, Tom Phillis, Gary Hocking, John Surtees, Geoff Duke, Derek Minter, Mike Hailwood and Bob McIntyre. Additional nostalgia is to be had since Phillis, McIntyre and Hocking are no longer living.
Packaged in a colorful sleeve, each approximately 13-minute-long recording lists for $2.95; an additional 10% is discounted if all six are ordered. Interested dealers are invited to inquire. •
